Did you know that Chilliwack was one of the first British Columbia communities to build schools after 1871? Pictures and stories transport students back to the days of one and two room school houses. Students will handle slate and slate pencils and will learn about the Coqualeetza Industrial School that was established in Sardis in 1894.

Explore the origins of Chilliwack through the eyes of the Kipp family. What was life like for this large family? This is a two part program where the teacher delivers the first part before we visit. Learn from pictures, artifacts and make butter from scratch.

We'll bring artifacts like a wash tub, wash board and an old iron to show students how much technology has changed over time.
